Soft Animal Bodies: A 7-Month Somatic Journey
Welcome home to yourself in community
There’s something about the colder months that call us inward. As the natural world around us slows and turns quiet, our bodies need each other more than the isolation that can beckon us. That’s exactly why I created Soft Animal Bodies—a gentle, monthly gathering space where we can remember what it feels like to truly come home to ourselves amidst a world that is becoming more and more dysregulated.
This seven-month somatic journey is designed specifically for trans and queer folks who are ready to explore what it means to live more easefully in their bodies. Led by Coral Short, a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, these monthly sessions aren’t about fixing anything that’s “wrong” with you. Instead, they’re about rediscovering the wisdom your body already holds and learning to trust it again.
Over the course of our time together, we’ll gently explore the fundamentals of somatic healing: learning to regulate your nervous system when life feels overwhelming, discovering how to connect safely with others, developing a clearer sense of what’s happening both inside and around you, and building a toolkit of practices that actually support you in your daily life. This is a space where you can remember that your body is your ally—it’s been looking out for you all along.
Program Details:
Format: Online group sessions
Frequency: First Sunday of every month
Duration: 90 minutes per session
Community size: Limited to 20 participants for intimate connection

This seven-month somatic cohort journey is structured to honour the natural progression of healing and growth. We begin with Safety and Trust in September which creates a foundation for our transformative work, allowing participants to establish connection with their bodies, each other, and in our container. Boundaries in October will build upon this, teaching participants to recognize and honour their own limits and needs before moving into the deeper emotional territories of Grief in November. Grief is an important process for many queer and trans individuals who may be mourning a lot at this time in the world.
The winter months offer a powerful arc of regulation and reclamation, with Self-Regulation in December arriving precisely when participants need it most. December’s focus on regulation provides vital tools for managing the uncomfortable stressors of the holiday season.
Dignity in January serves as a reset, helping participants reconnect with their inherent worth for the upcoming year.
February is Anger, when held somatically and safely, can be a powerful force for boundary-setting and self-advocacy. We clear the path for the March’s embodied Joy and celebration that many queer and trans individuals have been systematically disconnected from. Joy can bring a sense of aliveness and belonging to our nervous systems.
Each month builds naturally on the last. Come home to yourself again and again, in the company of others.

I believe deeply that healing should be accessible to everyone who needs it, not just those who can easily afford it. The full investment for all seven sessions is 230 USD/CAD/GBP/EUR, but I’m offering an early bird rate of 200 if you register by August 25. I also have scholarships specifically available for BIPOC and trans femme participants.
If you’re feeling called to this cohort, you can secure your spot by sending 200 in your currency via PayPal or e-transfer (for Canadians) to coralshort@gmail.com. If cost is a barrier, please reach out—we’ll figure out a payment plan together.
This isn’t just about learning techniques, though you’ll definitely leave with practical tools you can use. It’s about something deeper: remembering that your body is not a problem to be solved but a home to be tended. It’s about finding your way back to the animal wisdom that lives in your bones, the soft intelligence that knows how to rest and how to fight, how to connect and how to protect.
Join me to practice coming back home. Take time to remember the wisdom of your body. Together, we’ll practice the art of returning home to ourselves, again and again.
