I am experimenting with a new piece called “Present” where I will be doing interactive one on one breathing with audience members.  Also performing on this night are:  performance artists Shayo, Jordan Arsenault, Morgan Sea, Johnny Forever and Antonio Bavara!

November 

MIX NYC I will be performing The Insiders with 8 members of my New York queer community.  And also I will be screening my new video work Lesbian Hand Gestures twice on Saturday November 19which is a new video for Lesbians on Ectasy.  I was able to make this work with the generosity of Bildwechsel, Villa Magdalena and Canada Council for the Arts.  Here is a still from my new video work I made last year in Berlin with Mascha Niels and Meagan Castle.

December

I am super excited to be doing the Hammock Residency which is run by the magical Heidi Nagtegaal.  I will be performing a new work entitled SINGLE MOM VIRGIN MARY at the corner of West Georgia and Granville for the last four Saturday afternoons in December.  This piece calls attention to the status of single mothers who are almost all living below the poverty line due to the many budget cuts in their social programs.  Single mothers are also more apt to suffer from stigmatization, discrimination and abuse/ violence.  

January 

I start my artist residency at Tennis Court in Brooklyn working on new video and performance work. While staying there I will be also performing at Rebel Cupcake‘s themed event called OH CANADA.

I had the pleasure of working with 6 lovely new unicorns: Wesley Flash, Gaël Krajzman Johns, Lyndon Cudlitz, Ashley, Krys Richardson and the unicorn trainer Anne Grip.  Thank you to Sarah Fuchs to providing me with the excellent musical selections.

Back in Montreal, I was delighted to present a curation on August 13th  by André Azevedo from the MIX Film Festival in New York on entitled Insert Here at Pervers/Cité.

In September right on the equinox weekend I was happily performing City of Sighs,  a performance where I sighed 1,000 times.  This piece was a cover of Alexis O’Hara‘s work and was a part of the VENT Performance Art Festival curating by the talented Ms. Maya Suess. Here are some photos from that performance.

The images from the show that was done of my piece Mole Flanders at the Portland Art Museum.    I wasn’t there but Jen Kovach (who created the piece with me) and Jenstar Brockman carry it off with finesse.  Moles for everyone victorian style!

A big thank you to Helen Reed for bringing this piece back to life!  It has only been done once before in Vancouver, B.C. in 2006 at Signal and Noise at VIVO.

This Saturday, February 19th in Hamburg I am peforming at KABARETT with my Moustache Factory.

I am curating next Wednesday, February 23rd at the GLITZER BAR @ LINKER LADEN, KLEINER SCHÄFERKAMP 46  here in Hamburg hosted by the lovely Christina and Claude of Bildwechsel.  It is the radical queer bar in town.  This program is also travelling to Berlin and Montreal…..

After Hamburg I move on to Berlin where I am performing Insiders March 8 for International Women’s Day at the QUEERE ANTIPATRIARCHATS-PARTY.  And then I am curating Open Your Golden Gates at the Silver Future with my co-host Mascha Niels from Entzaubert Film Festival.

And then on to Montreal to Radical Queer Semaine!  Curation and performance dates to be announced.

Mole Flanders a collaborative performance piece I created with Jen Kovach will be reproduced by Helen Reed as curator for an event on October 15 called Shine a Light at the Portland Art Museum.   This is an interactive piece in which the entire audience chooses bodily locations of moles both hairy and tidy varieties.

Platonic Marriage Marathon!

The performance artist minister for the day, Coral Short, believes in monoplatonics and polyplatonics: you can marry all your best friends OR your one and only very special best friend!

Come get married to your favourite friend(s). No holds barred. This is an inclusive marriage ceremony for everyone.

Marriages will be performed until everyone is happily married. A marriage certificate will be available to all the happy couples, triads and friend groupings. Also! if you would like to marry yourself you are free and completely supported to do just that.

Please let me know who you plan on marrying in advance so I know how much cake and confetti is needed. Some preparations you can do for the big event:

1. get down on your knee or propose in any other way you see fit
2. decide on your outfits
3. prepare special vows if you want to

Spontaneous spur of the moment weddings are welcome. The wedding marathon ceremonies will occur one after the other outside of La Centrale in a semi secluded white wedding tent. The relationships must be strictly platonic and non sexual. This is a celebration of the longevity of deep platonic love. There will be a photographer on hand to document this joyous occasion.
